This solid mahogany chair was acquired locally. Its exact age and origin are unknown, but we estimate that it dates to the 1960s.
The chair was structurally completely sound so required no repairs or even tightening. The thick, dark, factory-applied finish was painstakingly stripped from every bit of its surface. The frame was then lightly hand-sanded and conditioned with two coats of Tung Oil for natural warmth and lustre. The seat was treated to new padding, new cotton batting and muslin, and a dark, dapper charcoal fabric. [Artisan: ABP]
