This piece was acquired locally from a retired antiques dealer. It originated somewhere on the east coast, likely in or around Providence, Rhode Island.
After minor repairs, the entire cabinet was stripped, sanded, and stained with a custom color blend that falls somewhere between walnut and cocoa. It was sealed with Wise Owl Furniture Salve for additional sheen and longevity, and its drawers were cleaned and lined with stately fabric. For an additional touch of freshness and sophistication, the original hand-carved drawer pulls were replaced with Italian-made brass cup pulls. [Artisan: KD]
